Actually, let’s do way more than that!!!
Let’s use the growth of this resource to help promote and support local producers, so that we are not funding the oil industry by shipping products from all over the world. Let’s reimagine what a local, community led, independent endeavor can do to help create secure, thriving communities. Let’s build a destination resource that actively works to reduce waste, educate the community, nurture shared experiences, and offer purposeful, meaningful activism that is accessible to all. This community is done being satisfied with the crumbs thrown to us from colonizer chain stores and disgusting slaughterhouses like Costco. This community is done celebrating the failures and mediocrity of caste supporting systems promoted by corporate nonprofits and their outdated models of charity. This is a community that embraces and models the reciprocity and solidarity of mutual aid. This community knows that providing the equitable distribution of the essential resources of existence isn’t the “peak”, it’s the bare minimum. Together, we are creating an expanded curriculum for everyone who is ready to fully embrace the privilege we have at our feet. The privilege to be the people who build a strong, equitable, community supportive, and sustainable future. We are done talking. We are lovingly and intentionally taking the brave and selfless actions needed to reimagine the foundational systems of nourishment, local commerce, and consumption.
